Our policies: Simple, Transparent, and Fair

Your happiness with your new sofa is our number one priority. That is why we work extremely hard to ensure you are pleased with your selection; but if you aren’t, for whatever reason, we're here to help — even if you customized the design. We are happy to offer a best-in-class return policy.

Shipping, Returns, & Exchanges

These policies apply to orders placed on or after March 15, 2019. Our previous policies are only applicable to orders placed prior to March 15, 2019.

Shipping & Delivery

Furniture order

Delivery

We provide quality delivery for a flat rate. With this service, the delivery team will carry your order into your home, unwrap, and assemble (when applicable). They will also clean up any packaging when they are done.

Missed delivery

If you are not present at the agreed upon delivery window, you will be charged a fee of $100.

Should your piece not fit at delivery

We encourage you to measure your space prior to placing an order. Reference the Will It Fit guide to ensure your piece will fit in your space and any doorways, hallways, and/or elevators it will have to pass through to get there. If the delivery team is not able to fit your order into your home, a 5% processing fee will be incurred and the shipping fee is non-refundable.

Time of day

Deliveries may be scheduled Monday through Friday, 9am–5pm local time. You may select from two windows: 9am–1pm or 1pm–5pm. If you have your reference number, click here to schedule your delivery.

Services offered for an extra fee

Storage. Orders that are required to be held at a local distribution center for more than 14 days incur a weekly charge of $39 (plus applicable taxes).

Weekend delivery. Saturday deliveries are offered in most locations for a custom quote in addition to the flat rate shipping cost. Please email order@interiordefine.com for pricing.

Non-furniture order

Delivery

We provide quality delivery for a flat rate. FedEx will hand-deliver your rug to your doorstep Monday–Saturday.

Missed delivery

If you are not home at the time of delivery, FedEx will leave your order at your doorstep. If FedEx is not able to leave your order, they will attempt delivery the following day.

Furniture and non-furniture order

If you place an order that includes both furniture and non-furniture, your items will arrive at separate times. Your non-furniture order will arrive via FedEx within 4–8 days. Your custom furniture order will arrive in 8–12 weeks. If you place a Quickship order, your order will arrive within 3 weeks.

Returns

We understand that flexible policies are important to you. However, we reserve the right to approve returns or exchanges, based on the condition of the piece and customer account history. Shipping fees are non-refundable.

Pieces that have been damaged, scratched, stained, or altered in any way are not eligible for return or exchange.

Non-furniture return within 30 days

We offer flexible returns and will refund the amount paid minus a 15% processing fee and shipping fee, once your order arrives back at our facility. Non-furniture items must be returned unused and unwashed.

To begin the return process, please email pictures of your item to order@interiordefine.com. We will send you a FedEx return label via email. Your order must be shipped back within 30 days from delivery. All items must be sent back in the original packaging. If the original packaging is unavailable, the customer is responsible for arranging equivalent packaging.

Furniture return requested within 14 days of delivery

We offer flexible returns and will refund the amount paid minus a 15% processing fee, which will be deducted from the refunded amount. Only one return or exchange is allowed per order.

To begin the return process, please select one of the two options below and email pictures of your item to order@interiordefine.com. A member of our team will be in touch shortly.

  • Option 1: Donate the furniture and provide a proof of donation receipt (for more information, please see the Donation Program section). A valid proof of donation receipt must be emailed to order@interiordefine.com within two weeks of the return confirmation date (provided by Interior Define). Once received, you will be refunded for the returning furniture piece(s) minus a 10% processing fee.
  • Option 2: Arrange for our delivery partner to pick up your furniture order. The returning furniture must be picked up within two weeks of the return confirmation date (provided by Interior Define). Once picked up, you will be refunded for the returning furniture minus a 15% processing fee.

If your item(s) have not been picked up within two weeks of the return confirmation date, your return will then fall within our 14–100 day return policy.

Return eligibility is determined at the discretion of Interior Define; damaged items cannot be returned.

Furniture return requested within 100 days of delivery

Returns initiated 14 or more days after the date of delivery will incur a 25% processing fee, which will be deducted from the refunded amount. The return must be completed within 100 days of the delivery date, returns picked up outside of 100 days will not be honored. Only one return or exchange is allowed per order.

To begin the return process, please select one of the two options below and email pictures of your item to order@interiordefine.com. A member of our team will be in touch shortly.

  • Option 1: Donate the furniture and provide a proof of donation receipt (for more information, please see the Donation Program section). A valid proof of donation receipt must be emailed to order@interiordefine.com within your 100 day return window. Once received, you will be refunded for the returning furniture piece(s) minus a 20% processing fee.
  • Option 2: Arrange for our delivery partner to pick up your furniture order. The returning furniture must be picked up within your 100 day return window. Once picked up, you will be refunded for the returning furniture minus a 25% processing fee.

Return eligibility is determined at the discretion of Interior Define; damaged items cannot be returned.

Exchanges

It's perfectly normal to change your mind after accepting delivery—that's why we offer flexible exchanges. Your exchange order will be placed with a 10% exchange fee (this fee is based on the price you paid for the item you're exchanging).

To begin the exchange process, please select from one of the two options below and email pictures of your item to order@interiordefine.com. A member of our team will be in touch shortly.

  • Option 1: Donate the furniture and provide a proof of donation receipt (for more information, please see the Donation Program section). A valid proof of donation receipt must be emailed to order@interiordefine.com at least 48 hours prior to the delivery of your new piece. Once received, an additional 5% refund will be applied to your exchange.
  • Option 2: Arrange for our delivery partner to pick up your furniture order. If you wish to have your returning furniture picked up by our delivery partner at the delivery of the replacement, this can be arranged, but the 10% fee would remain in full.

Only one return or exchange is allowed per order. No returns on exchanges. Exchanges are determined at the discretion of Interior Define; damaged items cannot be exchanged. No cancellations on exchanges are allowed. Exchanges are accepted only for a product of similar value within the same category (sofa for sofa, sectional for sectional, chair for chair, etc).

If you request your exchange after 14 days from the delivery date, a 15% exchange fee (based on the price you paid for the item you are exchanging) will be applied to your new order. The request must be made within 100 days of the delivery date. Exchange requests outside of 100 days will not be honored.

Donation Program

At Interior Define, we're passionate about giving back to our communities and reducing environmental waste. That's why we're proud to offer a donation option for returns and exchanges, providing you with an additional 5% refund on your order. Less impact on the environment, a little more in your pocket — it's a win-win. Please see the Returns or Exchanges sections above for more information regarding fees.

Proof of donation

You must provide a donation receipt from the 501c3 tax-exempt organization of your choosing in order to receive the additional 5% refund. Email your proof of donation receipt to order@interiordefine.com. If you're unable to provide this, please contact us to schedule a pickup of your order to proceed with your return or exchange. (Note: an additional refund will not be granted.)

For an exchange, proof of donation must be provided at least 48 hours prior to the delivery of the new order to receive the additional 5% refund.

In the case of returns (if you choose the donation option), you will not receive your refund until proof of donation is provided. Proof of donation must be provided within 14 days of the return confirmation date provided by Interior Define.

Cancellations

Furniture

Furniture orders are put into production 48 hours after being placed. Order cancellations requested within 48 hours will be refunded in full. Order cancellations requested outside of 48 hours will be refunded in full minus a 5% processing fee.

Non-furniture

Non-furniture orders are fulfilled 48 hours after being placed. Order cancellations requested within 48 hours will be refunded in full. Order cancellations requested outside of the 48 hour window will be refunded in full minus a 15% processing fee and shipping is non refundable.

We want to make sure your piece(s) are just as you envisioned them — that's why we give you the flexibility to adjust your order. We immediately begin processing your piece(s) upon receiving the order, and any changes during the fulfillment process result in lost time and materials. We ask that you finalize all order modifications within 48 hours of purchase. After 48 hours, there is a 5% order modification fee.

10 Year Frame Warranty

Applicable to the original owner and original delivery address only.

Interior Define guarantees that the frame and suspension system of its sofas, chairs, and beds will be free from manufacturer’s defects for up to 10 years. Interior Define also guarantees that the frame of its dining tables will be free from manufacturer’s defects for up to 10 years. This is applicable to the original owner and original delivery address only. This includes structural damages, but not damages from use. Modifications made to the structure by the customer, including installation of third party legs, waives this guarantee.

Damages

We encourage you to inspect your item(s) upon receipt. If you have a concern about quality, we'll work with you to correct it. To report any issues, reach out to order@interiordefine.com within 7 days.

Furniture

We work closely with our supply chain partners to ensure each production run falls within our approved variance range. Minor variances in size and shape may occur, as our products are handmade to order. See our Care & Construction page for more information.

Rugs

Variations in weave, fiber size, color, and overall rug size (up to 5% in length and width) are normal characteristics of handmade rugs and are not considered a manufacturing defect.

Restrictions / Limitations

  • Our return policy is limited to one return or exchange per household.
  • Throw pillows can only be purchased with a furniture item and can only be returned if you are also returning a custom sofa, sectional, chair, or bed. Otherwise, throw pillows are considered a final sale.
  • Extra sets of legs are final sale.
  • Additional cushions and cushion covers are final sale.
  • Additional parts (legs, cushion covers, sectional connectors, etc) can only be purchased by the original owner of the piece.
  • Discounts/promotions cannot be stacked.
